What To Do After Purchasing Thailand Insurance with Drive2Thai

If you have recently bought your Thailand car insurance policy through Drive2Thai, then you have taken the first step to your dream road trip. Whether you’re planning a quick trip to Hat Yai for the weekend or a longer trip through Southern Thailand, it’s always best to have your insurance sorted out as soon as possible.

After purchasing your Thailand car insurance policy through us at Drive2Thai, there are just a few things that you have to do before crossing the border.

1. Check Your Insurance Documents

After the successful purchase of your Thailand car insurance policy through us at Drive2Thai, your insurance policy documents will be sent to you through WhatsApp or email.

It is recommended that you check the insurance policy documents and ensure that the following information is correct:

  • Vehicle number plate
  • Insurance policy cover start date
  • Insurance policy cover end date
  • Name of the driver

2. Print Your Documents Before the Trip

If you have bought your insurance online, you can easily print your documents.

You can print your documents at:

  • Your home
  • A print shop near your home
  • Your office

Having your documents ready will help you speed up the process when crossing the border.

3. Collect Your Documents from Drive2Thai (Optional)

If you don’t want to print your documents on your own, you can collect your documents from Drive2Thai for FREE when you purchase your insurance with us.

This option is suitable for those who are passing by our store when purchasing their insurance and want to have their documents ready in advance.

4. Prepare Your TM2 and TM3 Forms

In addition to your insurance documents, you will need to fill in your TM2 and TM3 forms when entering Thailand with your vehicle.

If you want Drive2Thai to prepare and print your TM2 and TM3 forms for you, we can assist you with this. There is a small RM10 fee for preparing and printing your TM2 and TM3 forms for you.

Having your TM2 and TM3 forms ready will save you time when crossing the border, as they will already be filled in and ready for you to present.

5. Keep All Documents Ready Before Reaching the Border

Before you reach the border, it is important that you prepare the following documents:

  • Thailand Car Insurance Policy
  • TM2 and TM3 Forms
  • Vehicle Registration Card (Geran / VOC)
  • Passport

By doing this, you can make the border-crossing process much easier. Don't know what documents to be prepared? Check out How To Enter Thailand Via Land Border
