Here’s four steps to guide you through crossing into Thailand from the location, border operating hours, peak traffic period until up to immigration clearance to vehicle approval.

STEP 1: Malaysian Immigration (Rantau Panjang ICQS)
- Queue at the “Cars to Thailand” lane
- Drive to the drive thru counter
- Present passport for exit stamp including passenger’s
- Drive onward to the Thai checkpoint
Remarks: Usually this process is fast unless during peak periods
STEP 2: Thai Immigration Checkpoint
- Park your vehicle near the Sungai Golok Boundary Post building
- All passengers and the driver must exit the vehicle and enter the building
- For passenger, once enter the building to line up and present these:
- Passport (for entry stamping)
- TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card)
Submit TDAC in advance at: https://tdac.immigration.go.th
- The driver queues at the driver declaration booth outside the building and presents:
- Original vehicle grant
- Passport
- Copy of Thailand motor insurance (CI/VI)
- TM2 – Vehicle information
- TM3 – Temporary vehicle import permit

STEP 3: Thai Customs – Vehicle Declaration
- Park your vehicle at designated parking
- Declare your vehicle and present the following documents:
- Original vehicle grant
- Passport/border pass
- Copy of Thailand motor insurance (CI/VI)
- TM2 – Vehicle information
- TM3 – Temporary vehicle import permit
Additional Requirement (If Applicable)
If the vehicle is not under your name:
- Authorisation letter
- Copy of owner’s ID
If the car is company’s vehicle:
- Company authorisation letter (letterhead)
Remarks: All documents must be certified by Commissioner of Oaths / Suruhanjaya Sumpah
STEP 4 (LAST STEP): Thai Customs – Vehicle Declaration
- After the passport is stamped, the driver enters the immigration building
- Submit TM2, VOC, and insurance copy to the customs officer
- Thai Customs will call out your vehicle number and provide the declaration form
- Officers may inspect your vehicle and verify the plate number
